While some have tried to declare Brat to be dead, Charli XCX is here to assure that brat summer turns into brat autumn, and brat winter, and maybe even brat millennium. And so far, she’s succeeding. Just last week, the pop visionary released Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat, a remix album that reimagined the tracks from her sixth studio LP with a roster of A-list guests, including Ariana Grande, Kesha, and more. Now, Brat mania has made its way into the realm of luxury style, thanks to Victoria Beckham.
The fashion designer was spotted heading to the “Forces of Fashion” event in New York City on Wednesday afternoon, where she wore one of her own designs, dyed in an electric green. One glance at the dress couldn’t help but make me think of Charli’s culture-shifting album cover, and it seems Beckham is offering her own take on the attention-grabbing tone.
This dress seemed to be a slightly-different version of one of Beckham’s most-beloved designs. It featured a plunging neckline and rounded shoulders that transformed into batwing sleeves with cinched hems. While the bodice was more flowy, the mermaid skirt hugged tightly to Beckham’s hips until it flared out at the bottom with slight ruffles.
