World Tennis League. Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz will play together. The star cast of the tournament
Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz are among sixteen tennis players who will play in the World Tennis League exhibition tournament on December 19-22.
The World Tennis League is a showcase tournament organized in Abu Dhabi from 2022. This year’s edition of the event will feature the best Polish tennis players. Świątek and Hurkacz are to play in the Emirates This is important information because recently both Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz have been significantly limiting their performances. It is already known that after withdrawing from the tournaments in Beijing and Tokyo, the leader of the world ranking will not play in the WTA 1000 event in Wuhan. In turn, Hubert Hurkacz resigned from defending as many as 1,000 ranking points for last year’s triumph in Shanghai. Both Polish tennis stars also decided to change coaches. A few weeks ago, Hurkacz announced his separation from Craig Boynton, and on Friday Iga Świątek announced the end of her cooperation with Tomasz Wiktorowski. It is very possible that both Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz will be coached by new coaches in the December tournament.
16 tennis players, four teams In the tournament in the United Arab Emirates, Poles may, but do not have to, play together. 16 participants (8 women and 8 men) will be divided into four teams of two tennis players and two tennis players. The total number of games scored in all matches determines the final winner. The two best teams on the last day of the competition fight in the final for the final triumph. For the Poles, this will not be their debut in a show competition. Iga Świątek took part in the two previous editions of the event, and Hubert Hurkacz played in Abu Dhabi a year ago.
