Andy Murray has savage verdict for ‘Saudi Slam’ with Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz
The Six Kings Slam is set to take place in Riyadh from October 16 to October 19, with Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal among the star-studded line-up in the Middle East.
Andy Murray has savagely dismissed the buzz surrounding the new Six Kings Slam tennis event in Saudi Arabia.
Slated for a grand unveiling in Riyadh, the event is tipped to be 2024’s most cash-flush tennis spectacle, coming up this October with tennis royalty gearing up to battle it out in the desert kingdom. The Six Kings Slam, while not offering ATP ranking points due to its exhibition status, is dangling a wallet-bursting sum to attract the cream of the crop.
Lining up for the mega bucks bash are tennis aces Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune, each promised a hefty £1.12million just for showing up, dwarfing the payouts at this summer’s Wimbledon for losing semi-finalists. And the king of the Six Kings Slam will walk away with a cool £4.5m, nearly doubling Sinners US Open victory cheque from earlier in September. To crank up the hype, Friday saw the Slam drop a swanky five-minuter promo video, cooked up by Los Perez, chronicling the six racket-swingers in epic historical escapades tied to their heritages and playing styles. It has whipped fans into a frenzy ahead of the event set to dazzle fans from October 16 to October 19 at The Venue in Riyadh, reports the Express.
