British tennis player says he would ‘snatch up’ the opportunity to work with ‘special’ Andy Murray

British tennis player Jacob Fearnley comments on if he would like to work with Andy Murray.

Murray has now retired from tennis after playing his final match in the Paris Olympic Games alongside Dan Evans in doubles competition. It brought an end to a magnificent career which produced three Grand Slam titles, two Olympic gold medals and the World number one ranking.

Andy Murray has left a lasting legacy in British tennis and has inspired a generation of players, and that includes Fernley.

Would Jacob Fearnley like to work with Andy Murray?

Jacob Fearnley has made strides in his game this year having risen 520 places since January and he is now knocking on the door of the top 100. He made an impression on the big stage as Fearnley took Novak Djokovic to four sets in round two at Wimbledon in July.

The 23-year-old is keen to learn and take his game to the next level and Murray would be an ideal player to help him achieve that. If Andy Murray were to approach Fearnley about working together, he would not hesitate to accept the opportunity.

“Andy’s special. There’s never going to be another Andy Murray. He’s a role model for everyone, including myself,” he told BBC Scotland.

“Having a player like that to look up to since I was a child has been super valuable in itself. Having that Scottish connection makes it even more special.
