Andy Murray spotted with Strictly Come Dancing star and England hero as he tees off in first golf tournament
ON the tee, Andy Murray.
This morning represents a fresh start for the retired Scottish tennis ace as he takes part in his first GOLF tournament.
The 37-year-old is taking part in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am at Wentworth – alongside Scottish Ryder Cup hero Bob MacIntyre.
Murray, in Group 18a, was out at 8am with a shotgun start at Wentworth – where he’s one of the star turns on the course.
Also in the four ball is England cricket ace Jimmy Anderson and Strictly Come Dancing Star Anton du Beke.
Murray has found time to get his handicap down to 7, although that still means he’s behind Anderson (1.8) and Du Beke (1).
It’s clearly a friendly set up and mum Judy shared a snap of her second son with her former Strictly dance partner Du Beke ahead of their scheduled tee off time at 8am this morning.
Tagging both, she wrote on X: “These two on the same team @BMWPGA ProAm at Wentworth today.”
We told you how the Scottish sporting superstar had wasted little time in entering his first competition in his new sport after saying an emotional goodbye to tennis at the Olympics.
There were also emotional scenes when the Scot said goodbye to Wimbledon earlier in the summer.
