Top 10 combined tennis prize money earners in 2024: Jannik Sinner jumps to No 1 ahead of Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek

Jannik Sinner’s US Open title run has seen him surge ahead of both Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek in the latest combined ATP-WTA prize money earners list.

The Italian was third ahead of the North American hard-court swing, but he won the Cincinnati Open and the season-ending Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows to claim top spot with only a couple more months left in the 2024 tennis season.

WTA No 1 Swiatek was the early leader following her success on clay before Alcaraz took over at the top with his titles at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, tennis’ all-time top prize money earner Novak Djokovic remains in the top 10 despite his lacklustre season.

Outside the top 10, 22 men have earned more than $2m this year with Andrey Rublev ($3,494,885), Alex de Minaur ($3,420,709), Stefanos Tsitispas ($3,146,458), Grigor Dimitrov ($2,817,251), Hubert Hurkacz ($2,677,537), Tommy Paul ($2,651,912), Frances Tiafoe ($2,550,360), Jordan Thompson ($2,456,568), Lorenzo Musetti ($2,338,042), Sebastian Korda ($2,185,286), Alexei Popyrin ($2,152,352), Jack Draper ($2,091,782) and Holger Rune ($2,055,857) also getting past that barrier.

On the WTA side, Elena Rybakina ($3,051,915), Coco Gauff ($2,964,408), Elise Mertens ($2,242,722) and Danielle Collins ($2,239,398) have also cracked the $2m milestone.

Top 10 combined tennis prize-money earners in 2024:

10. Barbora Krejcikova – $3,504,115

Barbora Krejcikova was well down this last before Wimbledon, but she collected a $3m cheque for winning the grass-court Grand Slam.

The Czech, who also won the 2021 French Open, also reached the quarter-final of the Australian Open, but has done very little in the singles outside of that, losing in the second at the recent US Open.

9. Casper Ruud – $3,792,183

Casper Ruud has won two titles in 2024 as he lifted the Barcelona Open ($524,085) and Geneva Open ($94,510).

But his biggest paydays came from reaching the semi-final of the French Open as he collected $695,243 and finishing runner-up at the Monte Carlo Masters ($540,638).

8. Novak Djokovic – $3,836,915

Novak Djokovic found himself in 15th place after the French Open, but a run to the final at Wimbledon ($1,777,168) helped him to move into the top 10.

He has won only one title this year, gold in the singles at the 2024 Paris Games, but no prize money is awarded at the Olympics. But it is never about prize money as winning gold for Serbia was his top priority.
