Jack Draper says if he’s planning to text Andy Murray before his US Open quarter-final starts

Jack Draper has stormed into the quarter-finals of the US Open, where he will take on Alex de Minaur.

Draper thinks his serving can better, although thus far at the US Open it has seemingly been working wonders.

The Briton has overcome Zhang Zhizhen, Facundo Diaz Acosta, Botic van de Zandschulp and Tomas Machac so far at Flushing Meadows.

A tough test was certainly in store against Van de Zandschulp, who had just knocked out third seed Carlos Alcaraz.

But now Draper’s toughest test of the lot is likely to arrive against De Minaur, who is the 10th seed at the US Open.

Will Jack Draper reach out to Andy Murray before his US Open quarter-final?

De Minaur has already knocked out compatriot Jordan Thompson and indeed Draper’s fellow Briton Dan Evans.

Draper meanwhile could take inspiration for the match from compatriot Andy Murray, who clinched his first Grand Slam title at the 2012 US Open.

Asked in his fourth round press conference if he will reach out to the now-retired Murray, Draper said: “Probably not. I think Andy, I feel like he would completely understand and respond to any messages I send him but I think also he is enjoying his retirement now and he’s kind of done with it.
