David Beckham has reportedly made a big decision as he ‘nails his colours to the British Royal Family mast’ after ‘snubbing’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Former England captain David, 49, and wife Victoria were recently on the guestlist at a star-studded dinner at Highgrove House, Queen Camilla’s Cotswolds retreat. However the couple were once said to be close friends of Harry and Meghan.
David and Victoria attended the Sussexes 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle. But their relationship reportedly soured after a ‘frosty’ incident.
Tom Bower, in his book “House of Beckham,” claims that Meghan was incensed after The Sun published an article about her “growing friendship” with Victoria, which stated: “Their [Meghan and Victoria’s] love of pricey facials and glamorous blow-dries has become the foundation for a growing friendship.”
Victoria was said to be hurt “as that’s the last thing she would ever do”, and it’s said that her husband David and their sons are “holding a major grudge”.
Now an expert has claimed David has thrown his support behind Prince William, after saying he has joined forces with the Prince of Wales ‘whenever he’s asked me’.
And while reports have suggested Victoria would be willing to make amends with Meghan, royal expert Emily Andrews remains “doubtful”.
Writing in Woman, she said: “There have been suggestions that Victoria might be happy to make amends with Meghan (although I doubt it, I must admit). But David has very much nailed his colour to the British Royal Family mast – and not the rival court in Montecito.”
An insider previously told the Express that David would not be “disloyal” to King Charles and Queen Camilla, whom they share a good relationship with, by “welcoming Harry and Meghan back”.
