Rebecca Loos Breaks Her Silence About Her Role in the Beckham Scandal
Rebecca Loos, the former nanny of David and Victoria Beckham’s children who became notorious for her alleged affair with the footballer during his time at Real Madrid, has opened up about the intense media scrutiny she faced. In an exclusive interview with El Mundo, Loos discussed the harsh realities of that period, which brought her immense fame but also immense personal challenges.
“Everything was brutal. On one of the shows, a man named Kiko Matamoros claimed to know me and called me a prostitute. I had never even met him. Another man said he was with me on Ronaldo’s yacht in Brazil, where, according to him, I had slept with all the footballers. I had never been to Brazil,” Loos recounted. “My parents recorded everything on VHS. They suffered,” she added, reflecting on the toll the scandal took on her family.
Loos became a well-known figure in Spain, the UK, and the Netherlands during this time. “In Spain, it was considered normal for a married man to have lovers. In England, because he was their favorite, they hated me. In the Netherlands, they loved me. I was their only link to David,” she explained, recalling the varied reactions from the countries where she had lived.
A Complicated Relationship with the Beckhams
Loos revealed that she had been hired by the Beckhams because of her ability to speak multiple languages and help Victoria settle in Spain. “My goal was to take care of Victoria, show her Madrid, take her shopping. We had to make sure she would enjoy the city,” she said.
