Brooklyn Beckham shares grim four-word admission about how often he washes his jeans
The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, Brooklyn Beckham, 25, has spilled his fashion secrets, many of which have been passed down to him by his famous parents, and by his actress wife, Nicola Peltz, 29.
During an interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine, the model turned chef shared his sentimental side, revealing some of his favourite items from his wardrobe were gifts from Nicola, including a white Loro Piana jumper.
He also divulged a sweet Christmas tradition he shares with his wife – wearing “really comfy matching silk pyjamas all day” while celebrating the festivities.
Brooklyn admitted the couple also “try to match outfits” before they leave the house, which could be a nod to David and Victoria, who infamously pioneered this look in the nineties.
However, one of Brooklyn’s most jaw-dropping revelations came when he was quizzed on how frequently he puts his jeans in the wash, with the star sensationally admitting: “I never wash them.”
Many fashion fans have debated how often jeans should be washed after a University of Alberta study found the bacteria content in jeans worn for two weeks is the same as those worn continuously for 15 months, suggesting that frequent washing doesn’t necessarily produce cleaner jeans.
It has also been pointed out that jeans could lose their colour if washed too much, and the process can result in damaging the fabric.
Meanwhile, Paul O’Neill, design director of the iconic denim brand Levi’s, told the Australian Financial Review he only washes his jeans every “30 to 50 wears”.
Brooklyn is no stranger to causing a stir, after being mocked for spending £80,000 on filming a tutorial video showing the aspiring chef making a sandwich.
However, he was undeterred by the criticism, revealing earlier this year that he’s “used to the hate” and will continue with pursuing his passion for food, as cooking makes him “happy”.
