Victoria Beckham Calls Sons’ Girlfriends “Flattering” Choices
Victoria Beckham told Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour why she’s happy to loan her favorite fashion items to the women in her sons’ lives, including son Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.
If you wanna raid Victoria Beckham’s closet, you gotta get with her kids.
The Spice Girls alum—who shares sons Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 19, as well as daughter Harper, 13, with husband David Beckham—recently revealed the reason she’s happy to share her extensive fashion collection with the ladies in her life, including Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz Beckham and Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel.
“I love my clothes and I look after my clothes,” Victoria told Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour Oct. 18, “but I think that clothes are also there to be enjoyed. And if one of the young kids wants to borrow my clothes—whether it’s Harper or one of the boys’ girlfriends—that’s flattering, because they’re significantly younger than me. So that’s good.”
The fashion designer was also asked under what terms she loans out her pieces.
“I’m not too precious about those things,” she said before adding, “unless it’s Hermès.”
However, the 50-year-old did point out that she has a slightly different set of rules when it comes to her 13-year-old daughter. Victoria suggested she may be open to sharing her collection “when Harper eyes up those handbags,” but “not just yet.”
The style icon has proven she’s all about girl power when it comes to the ladies in her kids’ lives. Earlier this year, she put her close bond with her daughter-in-law Nicola on display as the two danced on a boat to the Spice Girls’ 1996 single “Say You’ll Be There” while sporting large bunny ears.
“Love you so much,” Victoria wrote alongside the playful video, to which Nicola responded, “I love you so much!!”
And when Nicola missed Victoria’s 50th birthday bash to spend time with her grandmother, the Bates Motel star made sure to shower her mother-in-law with love on social media.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful mil @victoriabeckham,” she wrote on Instagram. “I love you so much and love being your dance partner forever.”
