Nelly Korda sent support to fellow LPGA Tour player Sophia Popov as she made her debut as an on-course announcer during the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship. The German golfer interviewed several of the golfers on the greens, including LPGA Tour star Nelly Korda.
Following the end of the tournament, Popov shared a post about her experience on Instagram. Korda shared her support for Popov as she shared Popov’s post to her Instagram stories. The World No. 1 did not write anything in the caption as she shared Sophia Popov’s post.
Sophia Popov was elated with her experience and thanked golf commentator Chantel McCabe in the post. Speaking about her experience as an announcer, Popov wrote,
“First week as an on course announcer ✅ (and no, I’m not retiring 😂). What a vibe! Had the best time commentating alongside super new-mom @chantelmccabe and the whole crew at espn+. Looking forward to the repeat hopefully soon”
