The 2024 WTA Tour bagels and breadsticks bakery report: Iga Swiatek at No 1 again
The Iga Swiatek Bakery was once again busy during the 2024 WTA season with the Pole handing out the most bagels and breadsticks this campaign.
Coco Gauff and Zheng Qinwen also enjoyed great bagel seasons as they also dished out quite a few 6-0 scorelines, but Swiatek is without a doubt the chief pâtissiers on the WTA Tour.
In 2023, she won 23 sets 6-0, including handing out two double bagels in two matches as she beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-0, 6-0 at the Italian Open while Wang Xinyu also failed to win a game at the French Open. Her breadstick tally was 31 last year.
She didn’t quite match those figures, but still had a brilliant bakery season.
The 7 players with the most 6-0 and 6-1 sets in 2024:
=6. Mirra Andreeva – 18
Mirra Andreeva won four sets 6-0 in 2024 and one of the most notable bagels came against the sixth-seeded Ons Jabuer at the Australian Open.
The Russian also notched up 14 sets with a 6-1 scoreline.
Not bad for a 17-year-old.
