Victoria Beckham reveals truth behind strict diet
Victoria Beckham’s unusual diet has made headlines for years, and now the fashion designer has finally revealed the real reason behind it.
Victoria Beckham’s strict diet has made headlines for years, with husband David revealing that she has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years.
That favourite dish: Grilled fish and steamed vegetables.
Now, the fashion designer and former Spice Girls singer has revealed in an interview with the UK’s Telegraph the real reason behind her strict diet.
Beckham, 50, who gave up meat at just eight-years-old, said she’s very selective about her diet due to her skin. That’s because in her 20s, at the peak of Spice Girls’ fame, Beckham was very self-conscious about her acne.
Beckham says to keep her complexion looking radiant she avoids certain wheats and flours, and substitutes wheat flour for cassava flour. She also uses a £2000 ($3855) Dermalux LED device for half an hour every morning.
“It was because of my skin that I became very careful about what I ate,” Beckham told the Telegraph.
The beauty mogul also said she manages to avoid stress “by not taking on anything I genuinely don’t think I can do. Oh and by not cooking”.
Beckham had previously attempted to master cooking while living in Spain with her family, after David signed for Real Madrid in 2003.
“Harper says I can burn water, so it’s probably better for everyone that I don’t,” Beckham said of her 13-year-old daughter.
