“I Was Begging for Mercy!” — Korda Shares Her Dad’s Childhood Punishment That Had Her in Tears and Fans in Stitches

Nelly Korda might be cool and composed on the golf course, but her latest revelation about her childhood left fans crying — this time from laughter. In a candid moment during an interview, Korda shared one of the funniest and most dramatic punishments she ever got from her dad, former tennis pro Petr Korda.

— “I was maybe eight or nine, and I’d been super sassy that day. My dad didn’t yell… he didn’t even raise his voice. He just looked at me and said, ‘No cartoons. For two weeks.’ I literally thought the world was ending,” Nelly laughed.

She went on to describe how she begged for mercy after just three days without her favorite shows, even promising to clean her room for a month just to get the TV back.

— “I cried like it was a real crisis. No ‘SpongeBob,’ no ‘Powerpuff Girls.’ I learned my lesson real quick.”

Fans took to social media to react, calling it “the most wholesome punishment ever” and praising her dad for his low-key genius parenting move.

One fan tweeted, “Petr Korda knew how to break a child without breaking her spirit. Iconic.”

Now a world-class athlete with nerves of steel, Nelly jokes that nothing compares to being a kid with no cartoons.

— “He didn’t need time-outs. He had the remote.”
