Inside David Beckham’s star-studded early 50th birthday bash in Miami where 100 guests partied into the night, and why eldest son Brooklyn was missing: KATIE HIND

It was the first of many celebrations to mark David Beckham’s 50th birthday next month – and certainly set the bar high. The former England captain’s family were dressed to impress as they arrived at an opulent black-tie party thrown by friends in Miami.

Held at the exclusive Italian restaurant Cipriani, the 100-strong guest list was a who’s who of sporting and showbusiness royalty.

Of course, no Beckham party would be complete without their offspring. Romeo, 22, was joined by his girlfriend Kim

Turnbull, while Cruz, 20, brought along his partner Jackie Apostel. Daughter Harper, 13, was also there.

Eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz were noticeably absent, due to working commitments in Los Angeles.

The bash – which comes a whole month before Beckham’s actual birthday on May 2 – was attended by football A-listers Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets – all of whom now play for David’s Inter Miami team in Florida.

Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, a close friend of David’s, was in attendance until the early hours, as was Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber.

American football star Tom Brady and filmmaker Justin Theroux – who was previously married to actress Jennifer Aniston – also partied late into the night.

Comedian Jack Whitehall was spotted among the crowd, as was Ben Winston, the British television producer behind James Corden’s Late Late Show.

Latin singer Marc Anthony and his wife, model Nadia Ferreira, were also at the event.

‘It was definitely star-studded,’ one guest told the Mail. ‘But then I guess that’s what happens when most of your football team used to play for Barcelona.

‘The party was thrown by David’s new friends he has made in Miami. He has made himself a proper little community there so they wanted to give him a good old party while he was out there.’

Friends of the Beckhams described the party as ‘super fun but relaxed’.

However the celebrations carried on late into the night and at one point David hopped on to the decks, from where trendy American DJs D-Nice and Stretch Armstrong played ‘old school music’ – something Victoria particularly enjoyed.
