Lionel Messi leads ex-Barcelona boys at David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations – as Inter Miami WAGs strike a pose alongside Victoria at swanky party

Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami team-mates were seen enjoying the festivities at David Beckham’s early birthday celebrations on Monday.

The former footballer, who turns 50 in May, was joined by wife Victoria and his youngest children Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13 – with eldest son Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, notably absent.

The Beckham clan looked every inch the happy family as they got suited and booted to celebrate the occasion at a swanky event in Miami.

With that in mind, Beckham – who co-owns MLS side Inter Miami – invited a number of the squad’s players, and their wives, to join in with the celebrations.

The likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets were all seen in black tie attire as they posed with the England legend on the night.

The former Barcelona stars also brought along their wives for the party, who were all spotted in a photo alongside Victoria and David in a photo on Instagram.

A beaming David posed in the middle of the shot, next to Victoria, with Messi and wife Antonela to one side and Suarez and his wife Sofia Balbi on the other.

Beckham later poked fun at his diminutive looking stature as he posed next to American football star Tom Brady and basketball star Shaquille O’Neal, who towered over him with their respective 6ft4 and 7ft1 heights.

Hollywood stars Justin Theroux and Fisher Stevens were also in attendance, as well as Grammy winner Marc Anthony.

It’s no doubt the Beckham’s – who are known for pulling out all the stops for birthdays – will be longing out David’s celebrations for his 50th.

Meanwhile, it’s been a busy week for Argentinian superstar Messi, who was recently pictured alongside British tennis legend Andy Murray.

Murray and Messi linked up this week, as the football legend was in attendance to watch Novak Djokovic cruise past Grigor Dimitrov in the Miami Open semi-finals.
