David Beckham reveals he ‘still gets issues’ with an old football injury

David Beckham, one of the most iconic footballers in history, has revealed that he still deals with the effects of an old football injury. The 49-year-old English football legend, known for his pinpoint crosses, free kicks, and leadership on the field, admitted that despite retiring from the game in 2013, the physical toll of his career continues to haunt him.
In a recent interview, Beckham shared that his injuries, particularly those sustained during his playing days at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and LA Galaxy, still cause him discomfort. The most prominent issue is a recurring problem with his Achilles tendon, which has plagued him since his 2010-2011 season with the LA Galaxy. Beckham, known for his meticulous attention to detail, said the injury often flares up, affecting his mobility and overall well-being.
“Even though I’ve been retired for over a decade, I still get issues,” Beckham confessed. “It’s something you don’t realize when you’re playing, but when you finish, the reality of it all hits. There’s a lot of wear and tear on the body.”
Beckham’s Achilles tendon injury was particularly severe during his final years on the pitch. It led to him being sidelined for significant periods, and although he was able to manage the pain to continue playing, it’s clear that the damage it caused is long-lasting. As part of his recovery and daily routine, Beckham has worked with specialists to manage the injury, using methods like physiotherapy and stretching to alleviate the discomfort.
