Inside Victoria Beckham’s romantic workouts with husband David: ‘This morning we had a bit of Bobby Brown

Men’s Health cover star David Beckham has opened up about his time training with wife Victoria, sharing that it can get ‘romantic’.
Speaking of his go-to workout playlist, he told Men’s Health: ’This morning, we were very romantic, we had a little bit of Bobby Brown. Quite a romantic workout this morning.’

The couple train together with David’s close friend, a PT and former Team GB judoka Bobby Rich, five or six times a week, David revealed.
‘I’ve been trying to get Victoria to work out with Bob for years and she finally agreed,’ Beckham tells Men’s Health. ‘We now do five days a week, sometimes six, together.’

He added that Victoria starts each session with half an hour on the StairMaster or the VersaClimber, before they go on to train for a full hour with Bobby.
‘I love training with Victoria,’ David says. ‘In all honesty, from the moment I start to the moment I finish, I enjoy it. And I think that’s really important in workouts.
‘We give each other plenty of grief. She’s not very good at listening to Bob. Well, she’s good at listening, then she does her own thing. She’s not great at resting. He’ll give her a 90-second rest and she’ll be ready to go after 25. But when it’s good in the gym and we’re both in a good mood, it doesn’t get any better than that, I suppose.’
David also credits Victoria’s workout ethic with keeping him on track: ‘I stay motivated because my wife keeps me motivated,’ he says.
It was back in 2023 that VB started training with Bobby, after she hit a fitness wall and made the switch from cardio to weightlifting.
‘It was becoming apparent to her that the benefits from her own training routines had become minimal,’ Bobby told us at the time. ‘Despite spending daily 90+ minute sessions in the gym she was purely maintaining her fitness levels rather than improving in other meaningful ways. She was ready for a change.’
Victoria was admittedly apprehensive about lifting weights, too.
‘I’ve always been a bit scared of weights, but it turns out I love them,’ Victoria previously told Grazia. ‘I’ve even got those special gloves to wear! It’s good to switch things up and keep your body guessing. I’ve got so much more muscle tone now.’
Bobby told us: ‘It was a challenge Victoria was happy for me to prove her wrong about. And her concerns were short lived.’
Now, VB and David do full-body strength training sessions with Bobby, incorporating compound exercises including deadlifts, squats and bench presses.
