David and Victoria Beckham ‘attend former Man United star’s 50th birthday party’ – leaving ‘after a security guard was head-butted’ as police probe

Former Manchester United star Nicky Butt’s 50th birthday party – reportedly attended by the likes of David and Victoria Beckham – is said to be at the centre of a police probe.

The ex-midfielder turned 50 on January 21 and celebrated three days later, inviting friends, including former team-mates, to the lunch event at Soho Farmhouse near Great Tew in Oxfordshire.

The Beckhams were said to have been joined by the likes of Gary Neville and Paul Scholes and their partners, who all left shortly after the incident is reported to have taken place.

Police are said to be questioning witnesses and looking at CCTV footage from the event, which is reported to have seen a security guard head-butted and left with a suspected broken nose.

The report states that there was an afternoon of drinking after a group of 30 moved on from a private room to a bar area at the Farmhouse.

According to The Sun, the incident is reported to have taken place between 7pm and 8pm when a man left to go to a bar outside and was confronted by the security guard after he was seen urinating against a wall.

It is then reported that the man, drunks, allegedly snapped and head-butted the guard, with police informed at 9:15pm, two hours after it happened.

The guard is said to have been taken to hospital for treatment, and is reported to be off work recovering.

It is understood that he has given police a statement

The Beckhams are said to have returned home soon after the incident, with the couple owning a £12million estate near by, while the likes of Neville and Butt were driven back to Manchester.

A source told The Sun: ‘The guard went to have a word with the guy causing offence and was then head-butted in the face.

‘There was blood everywhere and people were shocked as the guard came inside with his face in a total mess.’
