‘Nervous’ Harper Beckham, 13, gives first public speech in surprise career launch
Harper Beckham melted her mum and the crowd’s hearts with her sweet speech celebrating Victoria Beckham’s fashion world achievements.
The 13-year-old daughter of power couple Posh Spice and footballer David Beckham took to the stage at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year 2024 Awards to present her mum with the entrepreneur of the year gong.
The award, presented at Claridge’s on Tuesday, honoured her ‘innovation and dedication to the British and global fashion industry’ including her self-titled fashion brand.
Harper was the youngest presenter for the night and immediately captured the audience with her natural charm and funny quips.
‘I’m so nervous!’ she candidly opened her speech which garnered some ‘awwing’ from the crowd.
She continued: ‘Good evening, everyone. I’m so excited to be here presenting the Entrepreneur of the Year award, especially as tonight is a school night. And hopefully this isn’t going to get me into trouble.
‘The winner is someone I have always looked up to,’ she added. ‘She’s built an incredible business from the ground up, and shown me the value of working hard, dreaming big and setting my standards.
‘She’s taught me so much about what it takes to succeed. But above all else, she’s taught me to always be kind and even though she has a million things to do, she rarely misses the school run.
‘Tonight I am so proud to present the Entrepreneur Of The Year award to a truly inspiring woman who means the world to me, my amazing mummy, Victoria Beckham.’
