But who will advance?
Australian Open Day 2 Predictions
Iga Swiatek vs Katerina Siniakova
Ilemona: Iga Swiatek’s recent form includes strong performances at the United Cup, despite a loss to Coco Gauff in the finals. Siniakova has a modest singles record at the Australian Open, with only three match wins from 11 previous visits. This will be their first meeting, and Swiatek is expected to advance, given her superior ranking and consistent Grand Slam performances.
Andreas: Swiatek will have a lot to prove in this tournament, as she’s visibly struggled to play her best in Grand Slams outside of the French Open. The fast courts often trouble the Pole, but Swiatek should be able to take out Siniakova here as long as she can serve accurately and avoid long rallies.
