Victoria Beckham reveals real reason for her famously strict diet
Victoria Beckham has always maintained her slim figure with a strict diet, and now, she has revealed the real reason why she has stuck to the same set of rules for the past 25 years.
Since Victoria Beckham shot to fame during the 90s as part of the pop group Spice Girls, she has always maintained her slim figure and followed a strict diet. The 50 year old has now revealed the real reason behind her rigorous set of rules – with her husband, David Beckham, claiming he has seen her eat the same thing for the last 25 years.
One major factor in Victoria’s eating habits is that she doesn’t eat meat, something she stopped doing at the age of eight. The fashion designer explained that she still abides by this rule to help her skin, having struggled with acne during the height of her fame with the Spice Girls.
Victoria also avoids eating certain wheat and flour, sharing with The Telegraph: “It was because of my skin that I became very careful about what I ate.” The doting mum of four to Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13, also candidly admitted that she never cooks, despite her husband’s flare in the kitchen. She told the publication: “[My daughter] Harper says I can burn water, so it’s probably better for everyone that I don’t.”
Her strict eating habits haven’t gone unnoticed, as her husband David previously revealed that Victoria has eaten the same meal of grilled fish and steamed vegetables for the last 25 years. He said: “I get quite emotional about food and wine, when I’m eating something great I want everyone to try it.
“Unfortunately, I’m married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years! Since I met her she only eats grilled fish [and] steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from that.”
David went on to admit that the only time he can remember his wife sharing something that was on his plate was when she was pregnant with Harper. He confessed that it was “the most amazing thing” and one of his “favourite evenings”.
