Iga Swiatek told there is ‘no question’ that she must improve one area of her game ahead of the 2025 season
Iga Swiatek enjoyed another superb WTA Tour season, with her five titles more than any other player.
Swiatek won the most titles for the third successive year, with the Pole’s biggest success coming at the French Open.
She lifted the iconic trophy for the fourth time, with Swiatek already on five career Grand Slam titles at the age of just 23.
Swiatek is proud of her 2024 season, which also included a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics at Roland Garros.
At the same time, however, her efforts tailed off towards the end of the season, with the Pole losing her world number one status.
Nicole Pratt tells Iga Swiatek to improve her serve
She spent 32 weeks at the summit of women’s tennis, but lost out on the year-end number one spot to Aryna Sabalenka.
And Australia’s Billie Jean King Cup captain Nicole Pratt has now suggested a reason behind the struggles, saying on The AO Show: “I think there is room for improvement on the serve, no question for me. No question. Her serve is not at the level it should be for the ranking she is.
“Her physicality is second to none and her movement on the clay, that’s what gets her across the line. She has a bit more time in the sense she can go a bit further back in the court and generate more power. If I was coaching her, she should have called me! I would be working on that serve plus one.”
