Sabalenka tops money-list as 50 women win $1 million or more

Elise Mertens is the only woman to top the $1 million mark in both singles and doubles

Aryna Sabalenka topped the WTA money list for the first time in 2024, thanks to her two Grand Slam title wins at the Australian Open and US Opens.

The Belarusian won $9.729 million, one of 50 women to win $1 million or more, up from 42 in 2023 and 39 the year before. Five women won $1 million or more in singles and doubles combined, while Elise Mertens topped the $1 million mark in both singles and doubles.

Sabalenka came out on top despite Coco Gauff‘s success at the WTA Finals, where she picked up $4.805 million in a week, the biggest prize of the year. Gauff is second in the list with $9.353 million, with Iga Swiatek in third.

Swiatek, who won her fourth French Open title in June, was the highest-earner in 2022 and 2023, but was pushed down to third in 2024. Still, with $8.5 million, she was not far behind the top two.

Jasmine Paolini was fourth with $5.82 million, thanks to her finishes at both Roland-Garros and Wimbledon, a breakthrough year for the Italian in the Grand Slams. Qinwen Zheng was next, thanks partly to her run to the final at the Australian Open and also runners-up finish at the WTA Finals. The Olympic champion earned $5.559 million for the year.

Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, Jessica Pegula, who made her first slam final at the US Open, Elena Rybakina, Mertens and Emma Navarro round out the top 10.
