“Never thought it could have been an injury” – Nelly Korda details struggling with migraines

Nelly Korda opened up about her struggles with migraines during the 2024 Solheim Cup. The biennial tournament was held from September 13 to 15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.

The World No. 1 is now competing at the 2024 Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, and the first round concluded on Thursday, November 14. In the post-round press conference, Korda was asked if she had struggled with migraines before the Solheim Cup.

In response, Korda shared that she was fortunate enough to not know what migraine was prior to the tournament (via ASAP Sports):

“I just wasn’t sure what was kind of going on. I never thought it could have been an injury. I just thought maybe with everything, all the stress that I went through during the year, that like my body was kind of in overdrive in a sense. So I was just trying to sleep as much as possible. Yeah, sometimes your body gives you signs, right? It’s smart. I need to listen to it a little bit more,” she said.

When asked about the last time she had a migraine, Korda said:

“Been a while, yeah. The migraine I had at Solheim, I’ve not had one like that since.”

Nelly Korda also said that she had migraine on the practice day, likely on Tuesday, which was the photo day at the Solheim Cup. The USA won the Solheim Cup by 15.5- 12.5, with Korda contributing to three important points for the team.
