Days after being eliminated from the WTA Finals, the world number two seems fully prepared to return to the courts in what will be her final event of 2024. During the Media Day, the Polish player talks about why she has decided to represent her country in this tournament this year, whether she watched the match between Coco and Qinwen, and also analyzes the potential clash with Paula Badosa.

“It’s the first time I’m in this tournament (at the final stage), so it’s very exciting. I am happy to be part of the team, something I have desired for several years, but with the schedule, it was very complicated, almost impossible. This season my schedule at this time wasn’t as tight. I hope to play solid matches here.”

“Paula has the tennis and motivation to return to the top. I was following to see if she would be able to come back, because injuries are not simple and she tried, but it wasn’t working out. I’m super happy to see her play her tennis in this tournament, at the US Open, and in many others. She’s a very good person and I hope she truly comes back. Someone with that determination deserves it. This week I will focus on myself and hope she doesn’t play that well,” concluded the world number two with a laugh.
