Retirement is the complete OPPOSITE from what I expected reveals Andy Murray as he reflects on end of his tennis career

ANDY Murray hasn’t hidden away in his retirement thus far.

But he has revealed he hid feelings of GUILT during his professional career and those have now evaporated after hanging up his racket.

The Scots tennis legend called it quits this summer at the Paris Olympics – but not before a stunning run to the quarter-finals with Dan Evans in the Men’s Doubles.

Murray was hit with a barrage of ‘what will you do in your retirement?’ questions.

So far, it’s been the complete OPPOSITE to what he imagined.

For the most part three-time Grand Slam winner has been focused on two things: family and golf.

The 37-year-old is determined to become a scratch golfer and will compete in a Pro-Am event next week at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Ahead of his trip to the famous Surrey course, Murray has been taking lessons in a bid to up his game.

And he’s enjoying the new-found freedom to practise and to spend time with his kids.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Murray said: “Since I’ve stopped, I feel really free and have got lots of time to do whatever it is I want.
