Victoria Beckham’s clever blush trick, straight from her make-up artist
Bazaar's Entrepreneur of the Year wears her look with a fresh twist
Bazaar’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Victoria Beckham, took to the red carpet at this week’s Women of the Year Awards wearing an ivory two-piece suit from her namesake label. The clean silhouette paired harmoniously with her understated ponytail, created by her long-time friend and hairstylist Ken Paves.
When it came to her make-up, Beckham stayed true to her signature look of bronzed cheeks and smouldering eyes. “Victoria asked for her signature smokey eye with really fresh, glowy, sunkissed skin,” explains her make-up artist Francesca Abrahamovitch, who regularly collaborates with the designer.
The smokey eye has been a VB go-to for decades, and the look heavily inspires her namesake beauty line, where there are sooty eye kajals and pigmented crayons aplenty. But it’s the rose-tinted, sunkissed complexion that lend a freshness to the overall look.
After creating a perfected canvas with the Victoria Beckham Beauty The Concealer Pen with TFC8 in shade LM1, Abrahamovitch gently sculpted Beckham’s cheekbones with the Contour Stylus in Marble, which imparts an ultra-natural definition. That enviable, post-holiday glow is all thanks to a clever trick of product cocktailing.
“[I used the] Cheeky Posh blush in Fever mixed with Cheeky Posh in Playground on the back of my hand, and added a little bit of Victoria Beckham Cell Rejuvenating Moisturising Primer just make it really dewy,” Abrahamovitch tells Bazaar.
This technique not only delivers a lit-from-within luminosity to the cheeks, but for those prone to dry skin, it is a great way to add extra ‘slip’ to your blush for easy blending. The combination of Fever, a bright orange blush, and Playground, a more muted rosewood, results in a believable winter glow, too.
