Laura Robson very ‘surprised’ after what Iga Swiatek has admitted recently
Iga Swiatek has enjoyed more success in 2024 winning another Grand Slam and is battling for the number one spot in the world rankings.
Swiatek won the French Open earlier this year, her fourth title in Paris, and the fifth Major success of her career to date.
The title came after a brilliant start to her season, where she rattled off four WTA 1000 titles, including Swiatek’s brilliant Madrid Open victory over Aryna Sabalenka, which many have called the match of the year.
After such a strong start to the season, things were inevitably going to slow down and Swiatek hasn’t picked up another trophy since her win at Roland Garros.
A slight dip in form that has seen Sabalenka jump Swiatek for the number one ranking, something that the Pole is keen to get back.
Laura Robson finds Iga Swiatek’s top tennis goals ‘surprising’
Swiatek recently revealed that ending 2024 as WTA number one was one of her three top goals at the beginning of the year.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Tennis podcast, former British number one Laura Robson reacted to Swiatek placing that much importance on her ranking.
