Andy Murray has fans in stitches with epic Halloween costume photo
Andy Murray got into the Halloween spirit by dressing up in a hilarious costume which had fans laughing on social media. The two-time Wimbledon champion is known for his deadpan humour, which was on full display as he dressed up as a grumpy clown.
Murray shared a picture of his costume on Instagram, showing him in white face paint and a multi-coloured wig. He also wore a red nose, a red and yellow polka-dot top and some comically wide green trousers held in place by suspenders.
With an expressionless look on his face, the father-of-four captioned the post: “Hope you are all enjoying Halloween as much as me.”
Murray’s post received hundreds of responses from delighted fans, with @deepfriedlard joking: “You’ve gone to a deep, dark place since retirement, Andy.”
@paulofaria_ said: “It is absolutely impossible not to love this man,” while @gillianspalding added: “I feel like this is why Instagram was invented.”
“He’s gone dressed as the Scottish goalie,” quipped @lordbertilakunofficial as @thefitnesschef_ joined in on the fun with: “The psychedelic sequel to Wallace and Gromit (the wrong trousers).”
Murray’s post also piqued the attention of former Davis Cup team-mate Neal Skupski, who said: “Such a clown,” while the official Cincinnati Open account posed the question: “Is everything ok, Andy?”
Others pointed out that Murray’s choice of colours would have seen him barred from Wimbledon. His mother Judy also chimed in, reposting the image on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “This is what happens when you have too much time on your hands.”
