87 things Donald Trump has said about women

The former president has a long history of controversial remarks about the opposite sex

“Nobody has more respect for women than I do. Nobody.”

Donald Trump has been many things over the course of his life: a politician, a business mogul, a nightlife fixture, and a reality television icon, to name just a few. But one thing Trump is not, nor has he ever been, is “filtered.” Quite the opposite, in fact. In politics and business alike, Trump has built his personal brand on being as unapologetically outspoken as possible, often to the delight (if occasional chagrin) of his most dedicated followers.

Although Trump has, to date, largely avoided any serious fallout or consequences from his commitment to self-serving logorrhea, his ability to wriggle his way out of self-inflicted jams is far from absolute — particularly when it comes to the way he speaks about women. It was, after all, his boasts about sexually assaulting women as “a star” that nearly ended his first presidential run in the waning days of the 2016 presidential election. More recently, he’s been ordered to pay millions in damages to author E. Jean Carroll after defaming her over allegations that he’d sexually assaulted her in a department store dressing room in the mid-1990s. And now, as he once again runs for office against an accomplished female candidate, Trump’s comments about — and attitudes toward — women are back in the spotlight as both a personal and electoral liability.

Just what has the former President said about the women in his political, social, and familial circles? Here are 87 examples of how Donald Trump talks to, and about, women:
