This will be the order of the seeded players for the WTA Finals 2024

We explain how the draw will be and which players have chances to go to each group, with the eight participants already decided.

The eight participants who will battle to win the WTA Finals 2024 have already been decided. Eight players who are already champions just by participating, as competing in this tournament is the greatest reward for consistency throughout the season. This year, these finals will take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) from November 2nd to 9th. A week where it is expected that the most outstanding female tennis players will display their best tennis to provide a great show and also a meeting where which player will end the year as the world number 1 will be at stake.

To be part of the WTA Finals, you must be among the select group of the top eight players of the year, and this time the prize goes to Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Qinwen Zheng, and Barbora Krejcikova. The first seven have qualified thanks to the large number of points accumulated throughout the season, while Krejcikova has gained access by winning a Grand Slam (Wimbledon) and staying in the top 20 of the ranking at the end of the season, as she is ranked 12th.

– Seeding Order

The tournament consists of a group stage where the top two in each group advance to the semifinals. Aryna Sabalenka will automatically be seeded for one of the groups as the number 1, just as Iga Swiatek will for being the second seed.

Once the first participant in each group is assigned, a draw will be held between Gauff and Paolini (3 and 4), assigning a different group to each. The same method is used for Rybakina and Pegula (5 and 6), and also between Zheng and Krejcikova (7 and 8). This ensures that the groups are as evenly matched as possible and leads to more unpredictable matchups in the initial phase of the tournament.

The draw for the WTA Finals will take place on Thursday, October 31st, with the time still to be confirmed.
