Victoria Beckham reveals the secret to her happy marriage to husband David

The fashion designer, 50, – who has been married to former footballer David, 48, for 25 years – further lifted the lid on her relationship in the interview after fans were given a glimpse at their partnership in last year’s BECKHAM documentary on Netflix.

She lauded her partner as an ‘inspiration’ to her and divulged the one thing that keeps her marriage in a good place: laughter.

The beauty said: ‘My husband is an inspiration to me. Do we look like the couple seen in the Netflix documentary? Yes. We like to have fun, chat, dance, drink.

‘And laugh at each other. That’s what it takes to be happy. I believe a lot in laughter, family and friendship. I realize that we have become a model. People like to see relationships that last.’

She also doubled down on her claims that she is indeed from a working class background.

Perhaps the most memorable scene from their Netflix documentary showed Victoria saying she was from a ‘working class background’ – before David interrupted and reminded her that her father used to drive her to school in a Rolls Royce.

It sparked a huge reaction from viewers and plenty of memes and the couple have gone on react light-heartedly to the headlines it generated.

But speaking with ELLE she insisted she wasn’t born with a ‘silver spoon in her mouth’.

Victoria said of her and David: ‘Deep down, we both share the same values. We come from the same background. Our families worked hard to raise us.

‘My father made money and then went bankrupt. Neither David nor I were born with a silver spoon in our mouths. We have a rule of equality, whether in taking care of the house or children.’

She looked incredible in the accompanying shoot with the publication, in one shot wearing a half open trench coat that flashed he toned legs.

Another – the cover shot – saw her pose in a chic black blazer as she displayed her radiant complexion.
