Nelly Korda has all but wrapped up LPGA player of the year. Lydia Ko would make for a good debate
The LPGA Tour determines its player of the year by points, and Nelly Korda has virtually locked that up. Using points instead of a player vote eliminates any subjectivity. But it sure could have been a fascinating debate between Korda and Lydia Ko. Korda is No. 1 for a reason. She’s won six times this year, including a major and a record-tying streak of five in a row. Ko has won four times. But one of those was an Olympic gold medal that got her into the LPGA Hall of Fame. Another was a Women’s British Open at St. Andrews.
