“See you in Malaga!” Iga Swiatek set to represent Poland in the Billie Jean King Finals
Iga Swiatek will take part in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Malaga after she is done defending her WTA Finals crown in Riyadh.
Iga Swiatek announced on Tuesday (22 October) that she will be representing her country in the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup (BJKC) Finals in Malaga. The World No. 2, who will return to action at the WTA Finals in Riyadh to defend her crown, said that she has decided to play in the World Cup of tennis.
Swiatek has not played any tournament since her quarterfinal exit at the US Open. She missed the entire Asian swing, which caused her to lose a lot of ranking points, and conceded the No. 1 position to Aryna Sabalenka.
The Polish ace has also undergone coaching changes as she parted ways with Tomasz Wiktorowski and hired Wim Fissette in his place. The WTA Finals will be the duo’s first assignment. She will then travel to Malaga for the BJKC Finals.
