Iga Swiatek’s ex-coach speaks out on ‘difficult situations’ before shock split
Iga Swiatek parted ways with Tomasz Wiktorowski after three years together.
The world No. 1 recently parted ways with Tomasz Wiktorowski after three years together.
The Polish coach explained why they decided to stop working together, addressing speculation over “difficult situations” in the team.
Wiktorowski joined Swiatek’s team in time for the 2022 season and they went on to have a wildly successful partnership which saw the 23-year-old reach world No. 1 and win four Grand Slams under his tutelage.
But they called it quits earlier this month, with Swiatek confirming that the pair “decided to part ways”. The five-time Major winner has not played a match since, skipping the WTA 1000 events in China and Wuhan.
Wiktorowski has now publicly addressed their coaching split, confirming that they mutually and respectfully decided to end their cooperation.
