The Cromlix Hotel, under the ownership of Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim, has submitted a comprehensive proposal to extend its facilities, reflecting the establishment’s growing popularity and demand. Such advancements follow a successful refurbishment in 2023 that substantially boosted the hotel’s occupancy and appeal.
Central to the hotel’s ambitious plans is the development of a new 80-cover restaurant, strategically designed to provide patrons with captivating views of the hotel’s picturesque back lawn. This new establishment is expected to replace the existing Glasshouse restaurant, which will shift its focus to afternoon teas and private events, thereby diversifying Cromlix’s culinary offerings.
In terms of accommodations, the proposal includes the addition of three new ground floor bedrooms within the main building. These modifications involve converting the current kitchen area into an accessible suite alongside adding two cosy cottage rooms. Moreover, an additional bedroom is planned for the first floor, increasing the estate’s capacity from 15 to 19 rooms, thus enhancing its ability to cater to the influx of visitors.
Ownership of the hotel was acquired by the Murrays for nearly £2 million in 2013, a personal investment in Andy’s hometown of Dunblane. Kim Murray’s hands-on approach in overseeing the previous refurbishment has contributed to the modernisation and renewed interest in Cromlix, with plans for nine woodland cabins and a wellness cottage already approved to further amplify the hotel’s allure.
