Nelly Korda, Annika Sorenstam Set to Compete at 2024 PNC Championship
ORLANDO, September 30, World No.1 Nelly Korda and LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam will return to the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, Grande Lakes, Dec.19–22, 2024.
Korda returns as a two-time major champion, having won her second title at The Chevron Championship earlier this year. This victory marked her fifth consecutive tournament win, equalling the LPGA Tour record for consecutive victories. The 25-year-old will be making her fourth appearance at the PNC Championship, playing alongside father Petr Korda, a former tennis player who won the 1998 Australian Open. The duo finished tied 13th last year, following a tied fifth place finish the previous year.
“I’m so excited to be back at the PNC Championship this year. Teaming up with my dad for this event is always so much fun and it’s become one of our favorite weeks of the year.” Korda said. “Competing alongside so many legends of the game is an experience that never gets old, and there’s no better way to end the year than to play with my dad in the PNC.”
Ten-time major champion Annika Sorenstam will return for her fifth appearance, teaming up for the third time with her 13-year-old son, Will. Last year, Will told the media that the PNC Championship is ‘the best week of my year and life.’ The pair finished in tied 11th place marking Sorenstam’s best finish in the event.
