Although the local administration initially assured that it would not grant permission for the works without prior approval from David and Victoria themselves, the project went ahead. Ironically, the couple had been criticized by their own neighbors when they bought their property in 2013. The accusation? Having altered the aesthetics of the neighborhood with their housing modifications.
