Dog heartbreak behind Nicola Peltz’s new venture: Bitter lawsuit over chihuahua’s death may have inspired actress amid fallout with Beckhams

Nicola Peltz and her husband Brooklyn Beckham are said to be turning their pain into passion as they unveil a new venture.
The couple, who have suffered their own personal experience of dog heartbreak, are reportedly setting up a new charity dog shelter together in Los Angeles.
According to The Sun, the couple are launching the Peltz Beckham Foundation, in a bid to rescue and shelter homeless dogs.
They have filed paperwork in California registering the non-profit organisation under bother their names. MailOnline have contacted representatives for comment.
The initiative is believed to be inspried by the loss in 2024 of their pet chihuahua Nala, who fell ill after a mobile grooming session in New York. She later died after being rushed to an emergency vet.
The actress then filed a lawsuit against HoundSpa in the Supreme Court of the State of New York in Westchester County.
According to TMZ, the lawsuit lays blame against dog groomer Jony Ceballos who Peltz alleges has a history of ‘intentional and malicious abuse of dogs’.
Nicola alleged Nala was left injured and in severe physical distress after a routine grooming in HoundSpa’s mobile van.
According to TMZ’s sources, veterinary records indicated that the dog had fluid in her lungs, neurological problems, and a rapid heart rate before her death, though the exact cause of these issues remains unknown.
Taking to Instagram with an emotional post at the time, Nicola penned: ‘I am truly still in so much shock and pain over my baby Nala suddenly passing last month following what should have been a routine grooming session.’
The upsetting post was accompanied with an image of Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham burying their beloved pet, as they embraced in front of a grave flanked with flowers.
She continued: ‘I posted the experience on my Instagram to bring awareness, and was heartbroken to hear the horrifying stories from so many others who have experienced the same tragedy.
‘I can’t bear it. I’m outraged to hear how common stories like Nala’s are.
‘We need to do better and change the laws to better protect fur babies and the loving owners who care for them. Our pets are our chosen family.’
