Tennis. WTA – Swiatek equals Barty in number of weeks as world No. 1

Iga Swiatek has always had deep respect for Ashleigh Barty. The Australian outrageously dominated the WTA circuit from 2019 to 2021 before suddenly retiring at the age of 25. After 121 weeks at the top of the ranking, Barty gave way to the Pole, who has currently held the number 1 spot for 46 weeks. In total, the winner of Roland-Garros even adds 121 weeks at the top, and thus equals the retired Australian. Next Monday, Iga Swiatek will become alone, the 7th player with the most weeks spent at the top of the WTA rankings.
