“Damage is unbelievable, people lost everything,” Iga Swiatek urges fans to help support Poland during ‘huge’ flood situation

Iga Swiatek has called on her fans to support those affected by the devastating floods in Poland. Since Tuesday (September 17), the 23-year-old has used her social media reach to raise awareness concerning the natural calamity that struck her country. Over the past few days, a disastrous flood has hit Central Europe, with Poland being one of the biggest affected countries. Reports have claimed that at least 17 people have died from the natural disaster, while hundreds of thousands of people have been impacted. The flood was caused after rain wreaked havoc in the region.

Swiatek took to her social media account to urge fans to donate to the Polish Red Cross. This is not the first time that the World No. 1 has shown support for her country. In 2022, after reaching the Agel Open, she donated the prize money she won at the tournament to a Polish mental health non-profit organization.
