Andy Murray makes ‘guarantee’ to angry partner in hilarious reply after entering event

Andy Murray sent a hilarious message to Robert MacIntyre on social media after the latter’s fiery outburst at the Irish Open. MacIntyre failed to control his anger during his second round at Royal County Down and was caught swearing on the course.

The 28-year-old was left furious with himself after a poorly-struck chip and hit the turf with his club before launching into a verbal tirade. He later took to X, formerly Twitter, to apologise for his behaviour but insisted that he would not change his ways.

“I do this at least once a year,” wrote MacIntyre. “I am sorry for the swearing on course but guess what I am not gonna change I play golf with heart and fight.”

Murray, who will team up with MacIntyre in the pro-am of next week’s BMW PGA Championship, cheekily urged his fellow Scot to mind his language when they are on the course together. He also joked that further botched shots would be ‘guaranteed’ in another light-hearted dig.

“Hopefully we don’t hear any of those sort of words next Wednesday,” replied Murray. “I can guarantee you will see some thinned drives however!”
