Swiatek enters WTA Seoul with aim of keeping her No. 1 spot

Iga Swiatek had a disastrous tour in the United States and her best results were the semi-final in Cincinnati and the quarter-final of the US Open. These results are not so bad, but when you are number one in the world and you have an opponent who is hot on your heels like Aryna Sabalenka, things are not good at all.

Indeed, the difference in points between the Belarusian and the Pole is lower than ever and only 409 points separate them, so it goes without saying that Swiatek has a lot at stake for this Asian tour.

Swiatek does not intend to sit idly by
Swiatek’s counterattack to ensure she ends the year at the top of the WTA was simply to add another tournament to her schedule, she who has been complaining for months about a busy schedule.

The tournament chosen by the Warsaw native was Seoul 2024, an important addition that will make her Asian tour a three-tournament package (Beijing and the WTA 1000 in Wuhan are added).

The world number one wants to keep her rank but she will have to shine in the three competitions while counting on the fact that Sabalenka will have bad results. The bet is not won!
