List of participants Wuhan Open 2024 with Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina
The WTA Tour will continue its Asian tour when players stop in Wuhan, China for the 2024 Wuhan Open, scheduled for October 7-13. At the Wuhan Open, a WTA 1000 tournament, several top 10 stars will fight for the prestigious title. The first edition took place in 2014 when Petra Kvitova won the title. Since then, numerous superstars have lifted the prestigious trophy, including Venus Williams and Caroline Garcia.
The last edition of the event took place in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. After temporarily suspending all tennis activities in China, the hard court tournament is returning this year. Reigning US Open champion Aryna Sabalenka is the two-time defending champion, having won the trophy in 2018 and 2019. World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is the tournament’s top seed and will be joined by a number of top-class players. Current US Open runner-up Jessica Pegula will compete in Wuhan, as will former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff and Jasmine Paolini. Below you can find the full list of participants:
