Donald Trump and the hoax about migrants eating pets

Donald Trump has lost the presidential debate, leaving in his wake a rude hoax about migrants

In the early hours of Tuesday to Wednesday, Donald Trump starred in one of the most delirious moments of his particular campaign to reach the White House: “What they have done to our country by allowing millions and millions of people to come to our country… look at what’s happening in cities across America; “Many cities don’t want to talk about it because they are too embarrassed.” So far, nothing particularly crazy, just the former president spreading his xenophobic speech. However, after the fact he added: “In Springfield they are eating the dogs. Those people who entered [the migrants] are eating the cats, they are eating the pets of the people who live there. “This is what is happening in our country and it is a shame.” In this crude way, the Republican candidate and his campaign team have decided to give voice to one of the most brutal hoaxes that had been created about migrants in the United States during the Democratic administration of Joe Biden. A few moments later, and after the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris showed with her gesture her rejection of the hoax posed by Trump, one of the moderators intervened to clarify the following: “ABC News has contacted the city administrator there [in Springfield]. “He has told us that there have been no credible reports of specific allegations of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.” Trump, uncomfortable, has pointed out that he saw it “on television.”
