Andy Murray is very happy about how much time he finally has with his family. Andy Murray has admitted he has been surprised by how much he is enjoying life since retiring from tennis. After a long and successful career, Murray retired from the sport after the 2024 Olympics in Paris, having won twice in his career at Wimbledon, once at the US Open and has two Olympic gold medals.

Murray has pushed his body hard to continue playing after a string of serious injuries, but revealed he doesn’t miss tennis as much as he thought.

“Since I stopped, I feel very free and have plenty of time to do what I want,” Murray told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. “I can spend time with my kids and have the opportunity to play golf or go to the gym on my own terms. It’s great and I didn’t expect that. I thought that retirement would be difficult and I would miss tennis a lot and then I want to get back on the tennis court, on the tour. So far, the exact opposite of what I thought has happened,” he added.
