“Jack Draper has taken control following Andy Murray’s recent retirement,” says Jodie Burrage

Jack Draper has succeeded Andy Murray and followed in the footsteps of fellow British tennis player Jodie Burrage. Burrage told Eurosport that she has known Draper for so long that she is looking forward to seeing him flourish as he battles Alex de Minaur for a place in the semi-finals in New York tonight.

“He did amazingly well,” Burrage told Eurosport about Draper.

“After Andy retired he has taken control, which is really nice to see, but there is also a lot of pressure on his shoulders and it’s nice to see he can handle that pressure well. “I’ve known Jack for a long time and I know how much work he’s put in over a long time, so I’m glad things are working out for him now.” “I also started training with his fitness trainer and I’ve watched his workouts and they’re not pretty, so I appreciate the work he’s put in and that’s exactly what I want for myself wishes.” “And when I look at where Jack is now, with his body in such good shape, he’s moving great around the pitch and it’s made a huge difference to his game and that’s what I’m hoping for for myself too wish… it’s really inspiring to watch him.”
