Celebrities are often accused of lacking groundedness. And also that they have no connection to the real world. David and Victoria Beckham tried to prove their closeness to the audience with a documentary series. However, this almost backfired.
It is the most famous scene from the documentary series that can be seen on Netflix: In the interview, Victoria talks about her childhood and says her parents worked really hard. “We were part of the working class,” she says. Suddenly the door opens a crack, David looks in and confronts his wife: “Be honest,” he demands. When Victoria doesn’t respond, David asks: “What kind of car did your parents drive you to school in?” After briefly trying to get out of the situation, Victoria answers almost resignedly: “In the eighties, my father had a Rolls Royce.” David thanks him briefly and closes the door behind him.
